Until it is appropriate to go to the office in my pj’s, you will find me doing most of my media pitching from home. Why? Because I absolutely pitch better in my pajamas.
If I were a superhero, my kryptonite would be business clothes. I just don’t function at my optimal level in suits, button downs or other stereotypical office attire. Our only dress code at Mugsy is to be yourself (albeit the most professional version of yourself). You would be more likely to find us at a meeting in dressy shorts and a Portofino shirt (Sarah) or a vintage dress (me!), but the minute I get home I am back in my pj’s again. This is the same concept behind phone sales professionals being told to smile while on the phone or PR firms that have office “living rooms” to give you a comfy place to pitch, but for me it comes down to how cozy my clothes are.
No matter what – the happier you are, the more successful you will be. So, now I want to know – what is your comfort factor at work?
