We contemplated doing a post today about Bruce Jenner’s beautiful transformation into Caitlyn Jenner, but there has been plenty of coverage on this story, and so instead, I want to talk about fashion. More specifically, androgynous fashion. Clothing that surpasses gender stereotypes.

Androgyny is a term referring to the combination of masculine and feminine characteristics, and this style isn’t news. Celebrities like Diane Keaton, Marlene Dietrich, Emma Watson, Prince, Russell Brand and David Bowie consistently break gender barriers with their clothing. American Outfitters, J. Crew and designers like Calvin Klein and Alexander McQueen have rabid fans of their androgynous and gender bending pieces. What IS news is that more and more companies are joining the mix.

Below is a slideshow of some of my favorite androgynous outfits for the workplace this summer, but there are so many options out there. I have included links to some of my favorite shops to check out below!
